SALEIGN transforms plants, historical objects, memory, and culture into contemporary visual narratives through observation, understanding, and reinterpretation.

About the Practice

SALEIGN’s practice begins with observation—of plants, historical objects, natural forms, and the traces of culture embedded in everyday life.

Through drawing, these subjects are examined, understood, and reinterpreted as contemporary visual narratives. Botanical structures, ornament, memory, and fragments of history often coexist within a single image, forming layered worlds where scientific observation and imagination meet.

Drawing remains at the core of the practice, while each image is allowed to move beyond the page. Illustrations are translated into textiles, spatial visuals, art objects, publications, and framed works, changing in response to material, scale, and context.

Across commercial projects, the ongoing Botanical Archive, and independent artworks, SALEIGN follows the same process: Observation → Understanding → Reinterpretation. Rather than simply decorating surfaces, the practice seeks to create images that carry knowledge, memory, and stories into new forms and environments.
